Alienware has announced that registration has officially begun for its Winter Frag Fest Tournament. The tournament, which will run January 17th - 22nd, is a 5v5 Counter-Strike: Source event where teams will compete in three conferences based on their location in the United States and Canada. The Winter Frag Fest is also the largest open event announced so far in 2009, with tournament officials expecting to host well over 150 teams. Prizes include great Alienware swag and hardware worth over $15,000, including Alienware Area-51 X-58 Desktops for the entire first place team.
Registration for the Winter Frag Fest has already begun and will continue through January 11th, 2009. There is no registration fees required to participate, however each team must have between 5 and 7 players at least 13 years old to be eligible to compete. GotFrag and MLG Game Battles have teamed up to host one of the first Call of Duty 4 tournaments of 2009. The tournament will feature 32 teams from around the world competing for $1,750 in cash prizes. The tournament is a 5v5 team format, and open to all teams, regardless of experience level or location.
Registration officially kicked off last week, but will continue through January 4th, 2009. Gameplay will begin January 6th, with 32 teams competing in a traditional, double-elimination tournament bracket structure. Registration costs 20 GameBattles Credits per Player ($12.99), which can be purchased at the MLG Store. Space is limited, so once you have purchased your teams credits, you can register and learn more about the event at the Tournament Website.
ClanBase has announced that it has begun accepting registrations for its NationsCup XII tournament. The NationsCup Tournament, which has been held annually since 2001, promises to be bigger than ever this year, where tournament officials are hoping to have a total of thirty-six European nations in attendance. The tournament will feature a total number 27 NationCups for 18 different games, including Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 2004, and many more.
As with previous NationsCup tournaments, no prize money will be offered, however this is still one of the premier gaming events of the year, and is expected to be much larger than last year's. Registration for the even has already begun and will continue until December 31st, with the nations' captains being announced then as well. The first qualifying round is scheduled to take place from January 7th-14th, while the second qualifying round will begin one week later. CEVO has announced registration for Season 3 is now officially open to Team Fortress 2 teams. The announcement coincides with the opening of CEVO-FREE division, a segment of Season 3 which is free to play for all teams who signup.

The Major League Gaming association announced today they have expanded their partnership with Dr. Pepper to include the production of a promotional MLG 20 ounce Dr. Pepper bottle. The bottle will feature MLG's current top team Str8 Rippin, along with a chance to win some great prizes like Xbox consoles, television monitors, gaming gear, and more. The promotion is set to kick off in January of next year, so keep your eyes peeled for the limited edition bottles in stores across the US.

Rekrut.ru, a brand new Russian E-Sports community, has announced it will be holding a Counter-Strike tournament this December. The event, called the Rekrut.ru Championship 2008, is being held to celebrate the launch of Rekruit.ru and will be open to both professional and amateur teams. The professional tournament will feature sixteen teams, eight of which will be invited by the organization, while the remaining eight spots will be decided through a LAN qualifier. In all, the event will feature a total prize purse of $30,000, $24,000 for the professional tournament and $6,000 for the amateur one.
The event will be held December 14th at the 4Game Gaming Center in Moscow. The qualifier for the amateur event will take place on December 13th at the Click-Net Gaming Center, also in Moscow. Looking for a better way for you and your squad to spend Sunday nights? Well The Team Warfare League is hoping to solve your boredom as they have officially announced they will be holding America's Army tournaments each and every Sunday evening. Starting Sunday, November 9th, teams will begin competing in various tournaments, lasting 4-5 weeks depending on the number of participants.
The tournaments will have a limit of 32 teams, so if you are interested head on over to the TWL Tournament Forum to get all the details, as well as vote for maps to be featured each week. We should note that there won't be any prizes being given away, however it still should be a great event and a place to meet other AA teams.

The tournament will begin with single-elimination play until only 5 teams remain; those teams will advance to the double-elimination finals to face each other as well as the top three teams from last summer’s Alienware PC Gaming Season open tournament.
